My colleague on the committee sent this through. It didn't reach the list,
so I'm reposting it:
oh i disagree entirely.
yes, i think we can emerge from the corner.
making a pot of herbal tea is justifiable, for example, i am thirsty, the
drink is good for my health, yes i shouldn't waste water but this is not,
in my view a waste etc. to use a tea bag is also ok, i bought it and have
a right to use my property as i wish, so long as it does not harm others.
if people see me drinking the tea im not setting a bad example because no
one can be harmed by drinking herbal tea, unless of course they do so to
excess. additonally, no one was harmed in the process so im not
perpetrating an 'evil' industry. so therefore its ok for me to make, pour
and drink the tea...!
if we are unable to provide a sound justification for our actions then we
ought not to do them... surely?
