just as a small aside, did anyone see the programme last night entitled 'slaughterhouse'...?

it showed a great deal of suffering involved in the messy business most meat-eaters would rather ignore.

in fact, my brother used to be a 'conditional meat-eater' (u know, not bought from supermarkets but from the local butcher, where he was assured of good conditions etc etc). he wouldnt eat meat/ dairy unless he knew it was free-range etc etc. and when he did eat meat it was no more than twice a week.

his thinking was, i like meat and these animals dont incurr pain. all is good.

he saw the programme last night, he's now joined what i might call the 'rebel alliance'... (vegetarianism). 

id recommend ppl see if they can get videos from the bbc, well worth a look. 

mind u, i suppose 'ignorance is bliss', your choice...
