ah! splendid, another convert!
1. this would not lead to extinction, we still have dairy cows etc, in good welfare conditions.
1b. take the example of India where cows are not eaten but revered, this need not lead to extinction
2. this would mean more land could be used. every 1 lb of animal protein requires 8lb of vegetable protein. clearly rearing non-human animals for food is wasteful.
2b. surplus space could be invested in protecting the non-extinction of other species. think of all the natural habitats that are destroyed to make way for unnecessary farms. do we really have a right to destroy their homes and natural ways of life?
not just england hedgerows but also other species abroad etc etc.
3. the methane produced from cows is said to contribute to global warming.
