ok firstly apologies if i was a little harsh, and it appears perhaps i was
reading between the lines a little unfairly with the some of the beliefs i
attributed to you.i look forward to hearing your actual definition of art!

your point about the ineffectiveness of poor art to convey anything of worth
is also very good, and true.i do, however, still think you tend to be a bit
elitist(thats how it come across to me anyway) with your remarks about mass
culture, and i should point out that the more music i hear(and my collection
is vast), the more it amazes me just how widespread musical ability is,
although much of this never reaches the mainstream. so i am very against
any claims that art is the preserve of the few (whether we are talking
about creation or appreciation)

i'll stop there before i get carried away again!
