Pretentious? Elitist? Dismissing aesthetic concerns?

Did you read anything I wrote beyond the meaningless throwaway opening line?

If I didn't take film seriously would I have aimed to start a discussion?

If I was dismissing aesthetic concerns would I have selected the films I did
or said what I did about them?

A nice rant about the philosophical importance of film ending with the comment
that you can't think of any with philosophical content.
