RE: Philosophical Films

I've been racking my brains to think up which films have superior
philosophical content, and I've come to the conclusion that all good sci-fi
films have substantial philosophical content.
I Robot/Blade Runner examines the issues around artificial
life/intelligence.
2001 explores creationism.
Star Trek Next Generation generally has one major philosophical issue per
episode - you can usually spot it very easily.
1984/Farenheit 451 - the role of free though and debate in society
Dune - societies with different ethical frameworks
Gattaca - genetic control
Metropolis - more ethics
Minority Report - causality & time issues
Also at the OU philosophy summer school this year we saw a screening of
"Insomnia" to examine the issues of personal responsibility.
