oh and my first point about government extending their power as soon as they
get the opportunity(in this case if we allow them to exclude voters) can be
backed up by the news the other day that they are considering extending the
tagging system to include parents who aren't paying their child support
money.its obvious where this could lead, and if they'll do this in a
democracy that will (try to) hold them to account imagine what they might
do when faced with the chance to exclude a few people who aren't likely to
vote for them. as someone famous once said 'power corrupts, and absolutely
power corrupts absolutely' - the advantage of a democracy is that it should
stop them ever getting a whiff of absolute power.
