i don't think Russell's history of western philosophy deserves to be on the shelf of philosophy because what he says about Nietzsche in there is basically rubbish, and a form of intellectual vandalism. Sadly Russell contributes to anglo-american misunderstanding of Nietzsche rather than adressing it, so on those grounds he should be disqualified
im not sure if someone's mentioned it already but Plato's Death of Socrates' would be a worthy replacement. In terms of creating a romantic/inspiring view of philosophy and 'the philosopher' it is unequalled
