Hi all,
Durhamers: I had a great time thanks. I'm glad to hear you're still alive Nick,
and I hope everyone else had a safer journey!
I've put the paper and slides for my talk online in case anyone would like to
see them again (I did have to rush through some of the technical bits):

Anyway, just my two cents on the true love discussion: I am not sure that the
view that "all human emotion is about shagging and DNA replication" and that
true love is like "some ideal chord which sounds deeply in the glens when ?soul
mates? fornicate by babbling brooks" are incompatible. Of course, I am sure the
former is not a complete story, however I do expect the complete story to be
something equally dry and scientific. Similarly I expect the latter is an
exaggeration - at least I've never experienced anything deserving such a
grandiose description.
However, although intuitively these two world descriptions do not coher, much
like the way in which free will and a determistic worldview *seem* at odds, I
suspect they sit perfectly consistently with each other
