Dear BUPS members,
The LSE would like to invite all BUPS members to the London
Undergraduate Philosophy Conference 2007. The conference programme is
located at http://www.lse.ac.uk/collections/LUPC/LUPCprogramme.pdf.
Students from Cambridge, Leeds, London, Oxford, and Sheffield will
present papers on various areas of philosophy. Our keynote speaker is
Professor Luc Bovens, author of Bayesian Epistemology (OUP, 2003)
(with Stephan Hartmann) and numerous articles on ethics, rational
choice, probability, philosophy of public policy, and philosophy of
economics. One of his recent articles - 'The Rhythm Method and
Embryonic Death' Journal of Medical Ethics, 32, (2006), pp. 355-56 -
was reviewed in the New York Times.
The conference is free to attend. Registration is also free and
highly recommended - in order to help us gauge numbers - but not
strictly necessary. Further information about the conference,
including directions and an abstract of the keynote paper, is
available at www.lse.ac.uk/collections/LUPC/ <https://
exchange.lse.ac.uk/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://www.lse.ac.uk/
collections/LUPC/> . We are currently looking for respondents. If
interested, please contact us.
We very much look forward to meeting you at the conference!
Kind regards,
Andrew Goldfinch
