[Bups-l] Recent bups-l and bups-dis technical problems

Hi there!

We've had a number of reports of bups-l and bups-dis misbehaving or
causing problems with spam filters over the last couple of months.
Hopefully this should now have been solved, as we've moved to a new
system. Which also means we can successfully distribute the journal
again (hooray!). The old problems were caused by a heavy number of
attacks on our server by a number of spam-groups trying to gain access
and use our connection to send out spam. There was nothing special about
us - they were trying this with many, many computers at the same time.
But it took some time and effort to solve, as we were experiencing
anywhere between 400 and 3000 individual attacks per day. Please accept
my apologies if you've been one of the people it's had an effect on!
Hopefully it's all over now and we can get back to philosophy rather
than online warfare...
