Would you like the opportunity to participate at the BUPS Skills
Conference (remember you can register here until this coming
thursday, at midnight: http://www.bups.org/pages/confs/
register.shtml), to share your point of view on the topics being
discussed, and have a good time while doing it? Then we have a
something for you!
We're looking for a few respondents to the papers which will be on
the conference programme. Responding means reading the paper in
advance, and preparing a few remarks on it, simply presenting a quick
run-through of the points made, followed by some critical remarks
(objections you have, problems the points made by the author might
face, or questions the audience may want to ask for purposes of
clarification or expansion). It's not a very difficult task, and is
certainly good academic practice.
If you are familiar (have done an undergraduate course, even 1st/2nd
year courses) with any of the following topical areas, then please
get in touch with info at bups.org, and we will see if we have a paper
which might interest you.
We are in the final stages of preparing the programme, so I cannot
explicitly mention the paper titles in this email. Papers from the
following topical areas do not yet have respondents:
Topical areas:
Plato/Pre-Socratics
Political Philosophy
Philosophy of Language
Epistemology
Metaphysics / Possible Worlds
Philosophy of Mind
If any of these areas correspond to your interests, let us know as
soon as possible. We will email you a suggested paper with further
details.
Best,
Edward.
