[Bups-l] BUPS Summer Conference reminder and EJP Conference info

A repeat of the Summer Conference CFP and Contest info will go out in
the next few days via BUPS-L, but here's a quick reminder for you
all, along with an announcement about an EJP event.

The BUPS Summer Conference (day conference) will be held on Saturday
23rd June, in Oxford, with Prof. Timothy Williamson as keynote.
Conferences submissions to submit at bups (2500 max, requires cover-
sheet, deadline is 31st May at noon). Full CFP and info at http://

UKP). Refreshments will be provided during conference.
Registration is possible on the door, but you are not guaranteed a
conference pack or even a place if we have filled the room, so
register early to avoid disappointment!
The BUPS AGM will be held during the conference. Details on BUPS-L in
the coming weeks.

Also, the British Journal of Undergraduate Philosophy is running an
essay competition, with The Royal Institute of Philosophy, The
Philosopher's Magazine and Edinburgh University Press. Prizes are:
First Prize: £200 and a year’s subscription to The
Philosopher’s Magazine
Second Prize: £50 and £50 in book tokens
Third Prize: £30 in book tokens and a year's subscription to
the BJUP

The European Journal for Philosophy editorial committee has kindly
informed us of an event they are organising in Oxford, the evening
before the day conference. If you are coming to Oxford before the
conference, we strongly encourage you to go as well. Details:
This year's annual *EJP* lecture will be given on the previous day,
Friday 22 June, from 6 p.m. to 7.30 p.m., in the Maplethorpe Building
at St Hugh's College. The speaker will be Professor Beatrice
Longuenesse, and her title is "Self-Consciousness and Reference:
Sartre and Wittgenstein".
