Hello everyone,
I am pleased to announce that the university of Reading has offered all BUPS members a £10 discount, by way of sponsorship, on all future philosophy conferences to he held at Reading. You can check out which conferences are to be held here:
http://www.reading.ac.uk/philosophy/Conferences/Conferences.asp
"This has the effect of making the up-coming undergraduate conference to be held at Reading on wednesday 12th December free to all BUPS members. Here are the details from Prof. Brad Hooker (B.W.Hooker at rdg.ac.uk):
The Reading Undergrad Philosophy Conference will run from 11 until 6 with lunch provided at 1:00. There are 6 papers being presented (not necessarily in this order): Douglas Bryant (Oxford) on the ethics of belief Megan Blomfield (Bristol) on Searle vs Kripke on Proper Names Jessica Fay (Liverpool) on reference to non-existent things Simona Aimar (St Andrews) on names and definite descriptions Joanne Lovesey (Reading) on metaphor Nicole van Voorst-Vader (Aberdeen) on our common humanity The BUPS members can register for the Reading conference simply by sending me an email. I'll reply with information about getting from the train station to the university. Registering is free to BUPS members. Registering *before* the conference is crucial so that we have the right size room and enough lunches to distribute."
Hopefully I will see some of you there
Many thanks,
Joe Cunningham
