From cypher89 at hotmail.com Fri Jun 13 14:14:45 2008 From: cypher89 at hotmail.com (Joe Cunningham) Date: Fri, 13 Jun 2008 22:14:45 +0100 Subject: [Bups-l] BUPS Job Openings Message-ID: Hello everyone, Here is some good news for everyone wishing to get more involved with BUPS: we are looking to recruit more general officers for our committee. Below you will find details of how the BUPS committee is structured, and of what being a general officer for BUPS entails. The BUPS committee consists of general officers, who help to run the society on a day-to-day basis, and specialist officers who are responsible for specialist tasks such as maintenance of the website. As a member of the committee you will be expected to attend all of our conferences, and be ready and willing to perform the tasks required of you when directed by the chair. Every member of the committee is a volunteer ? they do not get paid for what they do ? and are, with some exceptions, currently studying for an undergraduate degree. As a general officer, you will be expected to perform various tasks in relation to the general upkeep of the society, in particular the organisation of our conferences. You might be asked to maintain the database of attendees for an upcoming conference, for example, or inform departments up and down the country of our activities. You will be called upon to perform these tasks by the chair, who will send you clear instructions and help you in any way required. The work that you will be called upon to do by the chair will not take up a significant amount of your time, although we do ask that you keep around four hours a week spare for BUPS-related activities. In many ways being part of the BUPS committee will help you in develop your organisational abilities, people-skills, and will enable you to contribute to the undergraduate philosophy community as a whole ? something you should find very rewarding! If you think you would like to join the BUPS committee as a general officer, please do not hesitate to get into contact with us via char at bups.org, and we?ll get in touch with you in turn. Many thanks, Joe Cunningham pp. BUPS Committee _________________________________________________________________ http://clk.atdmt.com/UKM/go/msnnkmgl0010000009ukm/direct/01/
