BUPS Conferences

The British Undergraduate Philosophy Society is very happy to announce that the BUPS Winter Conference 2008 will be held from Friday 19th – Sunday 21st of September in St Catherine’s College, University of Cambridge. Our keynote speaker will be Professor Bill Brewer (Warwick University), widely known for his work on the philosophy of mind and perception.

Philosophy is of course much, much better if you're with people who are passionate about the subject and know what they're talking about. BUPS exists to bring together undergrads who love philosophy. Our events offer opportunities to give or discuss really great papers, to meet and mix with other undergrads who think worrying about ethics or the fundamental structure of mind and world is kinda cool. To build an understanding of how philosophy is done across the country. To meet other students who like this stuff as much as you do, who have done their reading and want to talk.

BUPS Spring Conference 2008, University of Oxford

We are proud to announce that registration has officially opened for the BUPS Winter Conference 2008. The conference is set to be held at the University of Nottingham from the 4th to 6th of January. Professor Stephen Mumford (Nottingham) will be our keynote speaker. Come to listen to, respond to, discuss or give a series of top-notch papers: a perfect start of a new year of hard work (and some enjoyable socialising as well)!

A perfect way to end a year of hard work, and begin a summer of relaxation: the University of Oxford Faculty of Philosophy welcomes BUPS delegates for a day conference, during which we will hear a selection of undergraduate papers, award the BJUP Essay Contest prize, and elect a new society chair for the coming 2007-2008 session.
